Happy National Paper Crafting Month

Every January, we celebrate National Paper crafting month as a way of acknowledging the pure joy of playing with paper! Because isn't playing with paper just the best? We scrapbook with it, we make cards with it, I make mixed media canvases with it, we decorate with it in many forms, we craft with it! I'm am going to review some of the basic's of putting together your wreath. Bookmark this page now so when your's comes in you can refer back to this information. I'm sure it will be quite helpful, especially if you have never put together die cut flowers before.

To start out with I choose to daub a bit of contrast onto the tips of my succulents. I only did the grey/green colored succulents to add a bit of variety to my final wreath.

I suggest you daub them before punching them out of the carrier sheets. It saves you time and a lot of ink waste on your fingers. 😊 I used New England Ivy for the darker succulent leaves and Fern for the lighter.

Wala ~ Here is my final version. I actually spaced my succulents out further and thus did not have room for the final one. 

Chris Lothian from Christine's Creative Caper's is so creative. She took the inside piece from the wreath form and created this Home Decor piece.

I had a lot of fun creating the 5, 2-page layouts and getting another Christmas set of pictures and cards into an album. It was odd cutting the My Crush pages for scrapbook pages but it was entirely satisfying and fun to see the final product appear. It also solidified for me the fact that nearly anything is a resource for scrapbooking as long as it is acid and lignin free. HERE is the workshop instructions to download for yourself.

On page 2 of layout #3 I did veer away from the directions in that I added 2 smaller photos on the left side rather than one larger photo.

Again here I also veered away from the original to get in an additional photo on page 1 of layout #4. I also had a resize of the photo on page 2.

As you can see there are no photos on either pages of layout #5 as I am planning on making these into card pockets to hold the Christmas cards we received.

Using the New Charlotte Paper Pack, Item number X7205B I created a planner dashboard that matches my CTMH 2016 Planner. I even have a shaker element in it. A planner dashboard is usually something you have in your planner with your Year's theme and holds post it notes and other inserts you will use through out the year.

THE DETAILS: The album is a black hardcover 3-ring album with gold foil designs. It measures 9 3/8” x 8 ¼” x 1 ½.”.
